Occasionally a drawing done at my weekly drink n draw gathering inspires a full painting. This is such a case. I made a quite a few changes to the painted version, as I allow my paintings to evolve as I complete them.

Keeping my drawing skills sharp is a priority for me, whether it be through life drawing sessions or group drawing meetups on a regular basis. One such meetup is my regular drink n draw gathering, which has been a weekly thing since 2016. This is also where I get to create for experimentation and fun, and not at the request of a client. Playtime, if you will!

The Micronauts toy line was my favorite as a child. I had a ton of them, and regret giving them away to a friend when I no longer played with them. At my weekly drink n draw gathering, I completed a set of drawing based on a few of them, and this painting was completed from one of those drawings. My favorite Micronauts aliens kicking ass against those lame ol’ good guys!
